Madden NFL 17 is, remarkably, the 28th instalment in the Madden franchise. The game was released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3, and features New England Patriots’ Tight End Rob Gronkowski on the cover.
Madden 15 and 16 were both well received, making more key improvements to each update than is often associated with annual sports franchises. Madden NFL 17 continues that process with focus on the running game, developing new ground game mechanics that allow players to be more creative when carrying the ball.
Madden 17 also brings significant change to Franchise Mode, introducing Play The Moments. This new format lets you experience Madden’s equivelent of career mode, but without the all or nothing approach of playing the entire season or simming the whole thing. Play the Moments lets you manage the team as you wish, but only brings you in to play on the field when things get interesting. This makes progressing through multiple seasons quicker and more enjoyable, for most people, anyway. If you loved playing every second of every game, that option is still available.
Madden NFL 17 received an excellent critical reception upon release, with almost every evolution from Madden 16 being praised. Madden NFL 17 is the definitive Madden game of recent years.
